In February the Newman Catholic Fellowship retreated to the Priory Retreat Center in the Adirondacks. Together, we shared and grew in Christ.
We have made it an annual committment to donate to Troy's own Joseph's House homeless shelter. This year we donated over $600 worth of supplies, including pillows, sheets, and toothbrushes to help keep its residents warm.
The Newman Catholic Fellowship has taken on the resposibilty of organizing the annual Faculty and Staff Recognition Dinner, honoring nominees for their commmitment to students. Dr. Kevin Craig was the keynote speaker, delivering a homily titled "Reason, Faith, and The God Who Won't Let Go."
In a collaborative effort, Union College's Catholic student group invited RPI's Newman Catholic Fellowship to join them in their Sunday evening tradition of dinner and Mass.
This year's fall retreat brought us to Ogden Lodge in the Adirondacks. The purpose was to help us relax, enjoy fellowship, and deepen our faith. Our weekend's activities, talks, and discussions were based on verses 1-8 from Ecclesiastes 3.
The year opened with a BBQ joinly offered by the religious organizations of Alpha Omega. The event drew many people for food and impromptu games.
For RPI's first Relay for Life, Newman assembled a team and surpassed our fundraising goal. Our Chaplain, Marie, was honored in the opening lap for cancer survivors.
Parishioners of Christ Sun of Justice joined together for Holy Week to celebrate Mass and the Agape Meal.
The Newman Catholic Fellowship offered a Friday evening Fish Fry during Lent, and assembled charity Easter Baskets for distribution through Joseph's House.
The Newman Catholic Fellowship again baked breads this year for fundraising. Our diverse selection of breads included Banana Nut, Irish Soda, Polish Easter, and even Chocolate Zucchini.
During Spring Break, members of Newman travelled to Camden, NJ to take part in the Urban Experience through the Romero Center. We learned about the issues facing the community there and took part in projects to build up the community.
This February, the Christian groups of RPI, collectively organized as Alpha Omega, gathered together in a night of worship in the Rensselaer Union. This event featured speakers, music, and theatrical performances.
Our spring retreat took us down the beautiful Hudson River Valley to the Epworth Retreat Center, where we grew together in The Light of the Lord.
At the annual Officer's Retreat in January 2006, we reflected on the past year, planned for new events and activities, and selected each of our leadership positions.
In September of 2005, the Newman Catholic Fellowship experienced the peaceful Adirondacks. The retreat was spriritually enlightening and filled with beautiful scenery.

The Newman Catholic Fellowship has created a labyrinth for use as a meditation during Lent. This ancient meditation technique focuses your thoughts as you wander through a guided path.
As a fundraiser, the Newman Catholic Fellowship made and sold breads. This year's bread sale was very successful.
